- active project with a couple of editors open with files inside that project
- Package Explorer -> Project node -> rmc -> Refactor -> Rename ...
- renaming apparently successfully, Project node changes name
- switch to currently inactive editor and see first white and then an error "Cannot determine URI for '/<old project name>/a/file'"

refactoring the proejct's name should, no doubt, update the currently open editors of said project.

To reproduce the problem eclipse should be restarted before rename operation. I think the steps should be 

- active project with a couple of editors open with files inside that project
- restart Eclipse
- Package Explorer -> Project node -> rmc -> Refactor -> Rename ...
- renaming apparently successfully, Project node changes name
- switch to currently inactive editor and see first white and then an error "Cannot determine URI for '/<old project name>/a/file'"

Same problem is also in Luna (4.4.0) for delete operation. Somehow it is solved in Mars but couldnt find how
