Bug 491376

Summary: Cannot set detail formatter on array

Description Jakub Knetl CLA 2016-04-09 13:19:09 EDT
When debuging if I right click any variable I can define detail formatter which works fine. But when I right click a variable which is an array, then there is no option to set the formatter.

I also tried to set detail formatter for underlying type which was in the array. The type is then displayed with formatter, but array is still displayed using toString() method of contained type.

The strange is that if I right click the array (after setting the detail formatter on underlying type) is that I can see option "Remove Detail Formatter" on the array. When I click on that then it removes the formatter from underlying type.

Is there any way how to display array using custom formatter?

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
