*** Bug 488487 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Very odd.... Aaaand they're back. ? I've switched Fudforum to use the master database only, not the master-slave. I think the slave was causing more problems recently when it happened to be lagged. I wrote the slave code years ago and submitted it upstream, but have not had time to maintain it. Let's assume fixed. We'll just buy faster DB servers :) Newcomers forum has lost it's Announcement/Sticky posts again. Ping. Still a problem. I know the webmasters are swamped, but this has been ongoing for almost 2 months. Can the forums get some love, please. Please? I'm looking into this now. I've rebuild the sequence in the tv (thread view) table for newcomers (forum 89). Is this affecting other forums? I've found the culprit. The query that rebuilds the thread sequence is bad. My thought is that the switch to MariaDB had affected the behaviour of this query -- or the number of threads in Newcomers causes different behavour. I've patched: fudforum/src/th_adm.inc.t with a query that rebuilds it correctly. Will bake it for a few days and see. This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
