Git commit dialog with missing file path

When opening the Commit dialog, the dialog box displays a list of file icons and checkboxes to set which files to include in the commit, but the paths of those files are not displayed. The paths are displayed correctly in the staging view, however.

Commits are still made correctly (as verified in the Git log).

Couple of other things I should have specified:
  1. This bug was only introduced after upgrading from Mars to Mars.1 release.
  2. I use the Cinnamon desktop on Linux Mint 17.3.
  3. Bug is present in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Eclipse.

That's bug 480032. What version of GTK do you have?
