GTK2 and GTK3 behavior

Environment:
Ubuntu 14.04
Eclipse Modeling Tools Mars Release (Build id: 20150621-1200)

The mouse background is white and it should be transparent. The bug appears to be only when I use GTK3. With GTK2 the mouse background is correct.

To reproduce this problem, install Papyrus and create a component diagram for example then add a new component. Now try to create a dependency and when the cursor pass over the component a white square box should appear.
The bug is also present when you create a diagram using Graphiti.

Snippet92 looks different on GTK2 vs GTK3. Maybe that's a similar case.

I see the same behaviour also in GEF-based editors. With GTK3 cursors are not transparent, whereas with GTK2 they are.

Is this bug still happening with Oxygen?

This was fixed awhile ago, I believe this ticket is a dup of bug 467983.
