Description David Williams CLA 2015-05-01 09:48:42 EDT
Details are in bug 461669 comment 14.

But, to repeat, I tried using

<p2.composite.repository validate="org.eclipse.equinox.artifact.md5.comparator">

to find errors when one child repository had artifacts that matched version and qualifier, but had different checksums.

I was expecting to get warnings or errors logged, since there was at least one known case that was "off".

I did not get even one error or warning,

I looked a little closer, and found several more that should have been flagged as "errors".

Am I not understanding what 'validate' does? (or, supposed to do?)

FWIW, I was using Eclipse 4.4.0.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
