There are some Window Managers on Linux, e.g. Awesome WM, having a problem with Eclipse:

After giving a popup window (content assist or tooltip) the focus by clicking with the mouse on it, any popup window will disappear immediately the next time, hovering the mouse over it. In Awesome WM, I can temporarily fix the problem by switching to another workspace, and then switching back to the workspace of eclipse.

Here is my originally bug report on github: https://github.com/awesomeWM/awesome/issues/71

The problem also occurs when I build JFace applications with tooltips and content assists myself:

There is a list of some Window Managers I tested, having this problem:
awesome 3.5 (not awesome 3.4)
bspwm
wmii
i3
qtile
spectrwm
wmfs2

I too am facing this kind of problem with Eclipse 4.5 and the awesome window manager version 3.5. But when I opened Eclipse in Gnome everything worked fine.
