This might be related to bug 435574, but not sure to reopen that one since this is a a new build.

It looks like that Text Editor pref is being overridden by an value in the css (not sure how to find which.) But basically, no matter what color I pick for the background of the editors it defaults to a shade gray from the dark theme. The editor background effectively changes to the new color when I click Apply, but once I click OK ant the dialog closes it chagnes to the "deafult" value.

On a side note, it also seems that the dark theme overrides all values of fonts colors and all the text in my UI uses a light blue.

I am also experiencing this issue. I can't use the dark theme anymore with Mars. I also can't use the color theme plugin anymore, though that is potentially unrelated.

Should be fixed with https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=464226
