Description Stephan Herrmann CLA 2015-02-18 10:12:18 EST
Using 4.5 M5 (platform at 4.5.0.v20150203-2243) I see the following (new?) behaviors:

When focus is on the Package Explorer, a click into a Java editor sometimes enters a text selection mode, just like when the mouse-up event was never received. I.e., even with no button pressed, the text selection is extended as you move the mouse. To reliably reproduce, click into the editor while moving the mouse.

Conversely, when focus is on a Java editor, a double click on a Java file in the Package explorer brings up a wait cursor, but nothing happens.

In both cases, the next mouse action works like normal.

Maybe a dup of Bug 459661 which also reports strange selection events under Windows?

Yes, that bug directly corresponds to part one of my report (and I, too, have EGit in use in that workspace).

So I suggest to focus this bug report on:

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
