Description Eike Stepper CLA 2015-01-07 03:34:05 EST
The extractor is supposed to do the following:

1) detect available JREs,
2) extract a contained Eclipse product to a local folder of the user's choice,
3) launch the extracted product with a matching JRE, or
4) redirect the user to a web page with instructions on how to download and install a matching JRE.

The extractor will be a native executable at least for Windows 32 bit and 64 bit.
For other operating systems it's not known, yet, how to support self-extraction.

The self-extractor is in use for a while now.
