Description Eric Moffatt CLA 2014-11-17 15:56:36 EST
To support folks who keep their hands on the keyboard we need a way to 'invoke' the hover from the keyboard. The difference here is that instead of producing the information based on the pointer position it uses the current location of the caret.

Over time we'll make this a parameterized command and (re)use it to show different flavors of info...

I've just pushed a Gerrit review for this....

I've committed the initial version of this. Currently the command is bound to Ctrl+Shift+e, we should see if we can find a more appropriate binding (F2 ?)...

Yes, Ctrl+Shift+E is problematic in Firefox since it normally opens the Tab Groups view. Orion tries to avoid clobbering native browser keybindings unless we have to override a similar action that is irrelevant or wrong in our context (like Ctrl+S or Ctrl+F).

I think F2 would be good (very Eclipse-like).

This was fixed, but the F2 key binding causes conflicts with the navigator. See Bug 465425.
