When Product = Technology is selected; the Components list is populated with IoT projects. 

AFAIK, Product = IoT is the new home for IoT projects when tagging/searching in IPZilla.

Should the references for IoT project in Component when Product = Technology is selected be removed?

Sounds like work remaining either in the PMI or on Webmaster's side relating to the IOT Top Level Project being created...

Maybe Webmaster's already fixed it, but the list looks right to me. Might your browser need a refresh?

Webmaster has corrected most of them. 

Ponte and Wakaama are still showing in the technology component.

Components aren't automagically removed when things change.  I've removed these so you should be all set.
