This makes sense when looking at a list of commits but when viewing a particular commit I really need to see the full commit message.

This was a regression introduced with the git-repository refactoring. Fixed with: http://git.eclipse.org/c/orion/org.eclipse.orion.client.git/commit/?id=66392800f4741596d64f8e0ef972f7d78bd1ae21
