When you click and drag an editor from one window to another, the old window seems to show the editor at index-1, rather than the editor that was actually last viewed in that window.  One obvious example where this is particularly annoying is when you do Window -> New Editor, then drag the duplicate view to another window, and your prior window is no longer showing the editor you duplicated, but some other random file.

You are right, I turned on MRU and it fixed this.  Just another manifestation of why anything other than MRU makes no sense, as thoroughly discussed in bug 388476

I would tend to agree with you, but there is no agreement in the community, so the action plan is to make the choice more easily available.
