The status service in Orion slides down a message bar from the top of the banner and slides out for "green" messages.
There are also two other type of messages:
Yellow: The warning messages.
Red: The error messages.

For the yellow and red messages we do not slide them out but they will go away when user clicks on somewhere else or close it it manually. 

We need a better way to log the yellow/red messages(or even the green ones)somewhere so that user can view them because the messages are transient currently.

Maybe we should reuse the mechanism of the task list that was designed for long running operations but it is just a rough thought.
