Pages clicked from the vertical menu should retain state - for instance, if we switch from the editor to git status, then switching back to the editor should show us the same editor page, scrolled to the same position with the same highlighted line that we had.

If we switch back to the git status, it should show whatever I'd expanded or selected there.

Maybe the vertical menu should offer ways to create multiple instances of pages too.
