Description Anton McConville CLA 2014-04-28 12:06:52 EDT
User feedback tells us that the side menu hovers are interruptive and bothersome. They cover and interfere with the drop down menus.

As a first step we'll stop the hover capability. All of the links from the submenus can be reached in other ways, though for some cases these are not obvious.

A second step will evaluate the content of the git status page, and examine the right presentation to relate repository, repositories, logs and so on ...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not entirely true. The 'Show commit @ eclipse.org' command is now unavailable, which is also bothersome.

It's a command available on the commit page.

Maciej,

I've started looking at what we want from the git landing page some more. Out of curiosity what is your reason for looking at the eclipse.org site? What information or workflow is missing from the ( many ) git pages that we already have, that you *need* the eclipse.org site too?

Note - I'm not saying the workflow is wrong, I just want to better understand the motivations.

As a committer, I have a habit of attaching git commit URLs pointing to git.eclipse.org whenever I pushed a commit fixing a particular bug.
