The workaround in Google Chrome is to type Ctrl+# on a German keyboard to get the same keycode.

Even that workaround does not work for me in Firefox Nightly.

Here is my workaround for my German keyboard using Firefox:

Alt + Shift (switch to English locale)
Ctrl + - (Toggle Line Comment)
