File icons are being handled inconsistently. File icons added by plugins append a 'thumbnail' class - whereas file icons that ship with the base platform don't have this class. This causes inconsistencies in rendering with the icon font - so we need to make this consistent.

In tandem, Simon asked for an file image icon to be added, because he wasn't happy with behavior showing lots of image thumbnails in the tree when there are lots of images.

The best way to solve both problems is to introduce the file image icon and remove the thumbnail.
