Description David Williams CLA 2013-10-17 12:39:11 EDT
It's been requested to have periodic builds of aggregation jobs (such as "nightly"), in addition to those triggered by a change in b3aggrcon files.

http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/cross-project-issues-dev/msg09973.html

So, wanted to document the change here.

Once caution: I can make this change now, for a temporary basis, but long term, we need to strive towards having b3aggrcon files be updated each time there is a new contribution ... either change the URL, or change the exact feature versions contributed. Since it will take a while to make that "easy to do", I'm fine having a periodic build, but just wanted to warn there will be future changes too that will make that less necessary. (Though, might still want to do occasionally, just to make sure things "stay" accurate.).

Due to previous, brief discussions, I had set Kepler to build every Monday morning at 10 minutes after 8.

10 8 * * 1

But if I understand right, current request is to have "daily" ones? If so, I'd recommend early morning ones (say, still), 10 after 8, since if something breaks, the probability would be greater, at that time of day, that someone would "be around" to fix it.

Weekly is fine. I just wanted a pointer. Is it maintenance for Kepler? Or staging? I could never get those straight.

Ok, I've set Luna to build once a week too ... on Tuesday's, around 8 in the morning. (Eastern).

Be sure to follow bug 419746 which may eventually (in a few months?) be reason to turn off the periodic builds.

Excellent! Thanks, David. (I probably should have known that already).
