I often have more editors open than tabs are fitting on the editor pane. So the tabs that don't fit are collapsed in a ">> n" widget on the right.

Editor tabs always stay in the order in which they were initially opened. So if I open six editors "one", "two" etc. I am going to end up lets say with "three" to "six" as visible tabs. Then switching to one will reveal "one" to "four", so "six" is invisible and to switch there I have to use the collapsed widget. This turns out to be very distracting: My current context is maybe "one" and "six", and I always have to find the editors again in the collapsed widget. In combination with the "Automatically close editors when there are more than n" feature this leaves the illusion that Eclipse is always closing the editors I currently need.

In Eclipse 3, the tab order was also preserved, but only the most recently used ones were visible. As every good usability feature, I haven't realized that before e4 broke this.
