Description
Wayne Beaton
I've posted about the Eclipse SCADA on the proposals forum: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/m/1064327/#msg_1064327 Please monitor this communication channel for questions. One mentor identified. I'll be the second mentor. I have updated the proposal document accordingly. Are we ready to schedule a creation review? (In reply to comment #3) > I'll be the second mentor. I have updated the proposal document accordingly. > > Are we ready to schedule a creation review? Yes we are. Good news! Martin Oberhuber has agreed to mentor in my place. I cannot schedule a creation review until after we have legal approval of the name trademark. Unfortunately, with our IP staff taking vacations, we won't be able to get this approval process started until the end of July. We should make sure that we are prepared to engage when the IP team is ready. Is there any known concern regarding the name? I'm pretty sure that "Eclipse SCADA" isn't used already, so there should be no existing trademark, correct? Are there any known guidelines, or restrictions regarding the use of 'SCADA' in names? Trademark search initiated. Sent request for status update on trademark search. The EclipseSCADA trademark has been approved by the IP Team. (In reply to comment #9) > The EclipseSCADA trademark has been approved by the IP Team. I am assuming this is a typo but to be clear the project name will be Eclipse SCADA. Sorry to be clear, the space between the Eclipse and SCADA is important. I've asked Janet for clarification regarding the space in the name. In the meantime, I've scheduled the creation review to conclude on August 28. Please monitor the communication channel for questions and comments. OK, this is fine with us. I declare this creation review successful! Congratulations on your successful Creation Review! Please perform these next steps: * Post to your Communication Channel that the review was successful * Fill out the new project provisioning request (NPPR) [1]. Note that the form must reflect your creation document: specifically, the committer list should match. * Let your new committers know that they won't be able to fill our their committer questionnaires until *after* the NPPR has been submitted and they have received their automated email titled "New Committer Request Form." * Remember that code cannot be checked in until it has gone through the Eclipse IP process. This should be easy since you can take advantage of the Parallel IP Process [2] once your project has conformed to the standards for incubating projects. *A "project information" page [3] has been created that you can use to share information about the project with the community. As your committers are provisioned, they will be able to edit the information on this page. Your project mentors are an excellent resource if you need guidance, and we urge you to make use of their expertise. Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions.
