Description Xavier Coulon CLA 2013-06-12 11:42:27 EDT
(On Kepler 4.3 20130523-2011)

When renaming a variable using a longer name, the code after all occurrences of this variables is partially erased with the new variable name.
This seem to occur when the editor is in dirty state.
I can't rememeber it was the case in previous version of Eclipse, and it's somehow annoying to have to undo, save and hope that it will correctly rename the variable without loosing code.

I can't reproduce the reported behavior of partial erasure. Could you extract the code into testcase and post it here? Thanks!

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
