Status: RESOLVED WORKSFORME QA Contact:

OS: Linux
Whiteboard: stalebug

Description Alexander Kurtakov CLA 2013-05-20 09:27:50 EDT
Use Profile As/Profile Configuration go to the Profiler tab and try choosing Callgraph. There one has to fullfill the system tap script to use, the binary and etc.
The system tap script should be filled (or even hidden for now) and the internal stp script (used by Profiling Tools/Function Callgraph should be the default so the launcher can work from the beginning. Setting the script should be done together with the parser and viewer if the user wants.

What's the status here?

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

Roland, would you please try this one and verify it works properly. It would be very sad if we have shipped broken launcher for so long.

Roland, did you check this one?

I've checked this on current master branch, with just systemtap installed and it seems to have worked for me. The callgraph came up for a simple Hello World program. I could of course do some more thorough testing, but it does seem to work in a very basic case.

Note that getting this to work inside a flatpak environment is another issue.
