Bug 406858

Summary: [DBCS4.3] Favorites do not follow renaming of files in navigator
Product: [ECD] Orion Reporter: Takehiko Ishii <takepon>
Component: ClientAssignee: Ken Walker <ken_walker>
Status: RESOLVED WONTFIX QA Contact:
Severity: normal
Priority: P3 CC: harendra, ken_walker, takajo, takepon
Version: unspecified
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: Macintosh
OS: Mac OS X
Whiteboard:

Description Takehiko Ishii CLA 2013-04-30 01:14:01 EDT
OS: Mac OS X 10.8.3 Japanese UI and region
Orion: https://orion.eclipse.org (as of 29th April 2013)
Web browser: Firefox ESR 17, Chrome 26

Steps to recreate problem:
1- create a folder on Orion navigator
2- go to the folder created, and create a file
3- select the file, and click "Actions"->"Make Favorite"
4- enter new name
5- sign out and re-login
6- check the renamed file in Favorites section
7- click the file name in Favorites section to show its content

Expected:
at step 6, file name in Favorites is renamed to the same name in Navigator
at step 7, A file contents of renamed filed is displayed

Actual:
at step 6, old file name remains in Favorites
at step 7, an error appears on editor view: "An error occurred: File not found: /........."

BTW, about step 6, the current behavior may be expected because there is another "Rename" menu in Favorite section. If using it, the name becomes not consistent with the file name in Navigator view, but clicking the renamed name in Favorite navigates to a proper contents. However, even if step 6 is expected, step 7 should display the content properly.

We've removed the "Favourites" capability so this is no longer applicable
