Screen snap of areas where click does not close menu
If the navigation menu is dropped down by clicking on the hamburger with the mouse, then a subsequent mouse click below or to the left or right of the menu closes the menu (without any action).
However if the click is just above the menu, the menu stays open.
This is particularly noticeable if the user clicks on the hamburger again, because the action of clicking on a menu button and then clicking on it again usually dismisses the associated menu or popup. (See GMail "More" button or Gear menu, or Chrome "Customise" hamburger for examples).
In the attached screen shot, the "dead zones" above the menu are outlined in red.
I saw this on both Chrome and FF. Didn't try in IE.
