The current model editor does not offer tooltips for its various fields which makes it hardly self-explanatory. E.g. one might wonder what "persisted state", "variables", "context properties", ... is good for.

(The tooltip for the tags in particular could show known tags for the selected model element).

Any plans on adding other work to this particular bug? If not I'll resolve it as fixed.

Whatever you like, the current patch just contains the general API to set tooltips (and a proof for part#variables). What is missing are meaningful content for other model elements.
OTOH opening a bug for a single tooltip is a lot overhead.
