This one is an aesthetic nit, but I'd love to fix all of these now that we're on Java 1.6. Happy to put together the reviews for this...

Unless there is a concrete benefit other than personal preference I wouldn't want to invest the effort. It's fine with me to use isEmpty() in new code that is being or written or update existing code as we touch it. We can discuss further during today's call but I'm inclined mark this as won't fix.
