Description
Nick Edgar
I see this as a minor usability problem. This is standard behavior in all Eclipse dialogs where there's a text field above some tree or table widget (e.g. New wizards, Open Type,...). Would you suggest that all those dialogs should immediately switch back to the text field when text is typed? I think it's less confusing in a traditional dialog, where the different controls are more strongly delineated. In the outline prompter, it feels like it's one control. But again, this is a minor gripe. The thing is that there are users (count myself in) that use the native navigation in widget e.g. if I type a letter it jumps to the first occurrence in the widget. This would clearly be broken. Feel free to close then. I thought the behaviour was strange at the time, but I don't feel that strongly about it. I'll leave it open and see if others might feel the same about the dialog as you do. keeping as reminder Reopening to dispose. This is not considered a bug. |
