Recently in the AC it was discuesed that a recommendation should be made, that projects provide a "How to Contribute"/"Contributor Guide" page.

I am trying to put something togeter, as tracked in bug 397644.

It would be nice to give the projects which have a contributor guide the posibility to make it visible under the "Contribute to this project:" section on the project page.

Do you think this is reasonable, or will it rahter overload the "Contribute to this project" part?

I'm declaring victory. The project pages provided by the PMI provide a means of specifying arbitrary text in a "Contribution Message" that will appear at the top of the "Developer Resources" page. Further, there is a means for specifying a "Getting Started" URL.
