Properties view snapshot

We have faced this issue for long time.
So thought of raising this now.

In the old properties view we always have one extra empty column on the right hand side which forces a horizontal scroll bar to appear. Please refer to the attachment for details.
Can something be done about this.
Let me know if i need to provide any further details.

cheers,
Saurav

No one is looking at the properties view at the moment, but we can accept patches. http://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform_UI/How_to_Contribute

Luna 4.4 on Linux.

On Luna (4.4), build id: I20131212-1600, I do not see an extra column (see attachment 2 [details]).

The horizontal scrollbar behaves a bit strangely: it can be present or absent for the same window size and displayed element, depending on when is the Properties view opened, but this is a different issue in my opinion.

Screenshot that shows the 'empty space' problem

The empty column is in fact an empty space and it is a Windows specific 'feature'. Normally it does not affect the horizontal scrollbar.
But I see two problems with the tabbed properties view on Windows:
1. As Saurav noticed, the 'empty column' is visible directly after opening the view. The reason is that the initial width of the table is not correctly adjusted to the width of the view.
2. The width of the table is not being updated when narrowing its columns (see screenshot).

On Linux these problems don't appear.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got
resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some
reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it.
The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you
still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is
(for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the stalebug whiteboard tag.
