Description Christian Pontesegger CLA 2013-02-07 02:02:09 EST
NavigatorDecoratingLabelProvider is a very convenient way to add colored decorations to our custom tables & trees. Unfortunately it is part of internal API.

I suggest moving it to the public API so it can officially be used by other plugins too.
Comment 1 Dani Megert CLA 2013-02-07 09:34:35 EST
Just making it API would be wrong. It would have to go into a more common bundle.
Comment 2 Paul Webster CLA 2013-02-07 13:56:00 EST
The implementation is clean, in that it could be moved to an API package in org.eclipse.ui.workbench plugin.

But first, it would need to be renamed and what it provides spelled out (right now it talks about styled label support for the navigator)

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got
resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some
reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it.
The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you
still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is
(for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the stalebug whiteboard tag.
