When a Review is first created, the creator of the review is automatically included as a participant to the review.  However, some of the creator properties (e.g. email), as well as the review property CreatedBy do not get populated correctly in the model and are not serialized, so the information is lost.  We do not see the problem is the Review Navigator, as the email information is taken from the User R4E preferences and the other properties are not used, but the bug is clearly showing when using the R4E Mylyn Tasks connector.

Strangely, it seems that the missing info get included when the first Review Item is added to the review
