Fix for SDM compilation on AIX

The SDM module does not compile on AIX due to error messages about missing asprintf in the link step. This patch fixes the compilation problems

Dave, were you planning to apply this to ptp_6_0 or master (or both)? I'd like to finalize 6.0.5 today if you want to get it in.

I committed these changes to Junk and Kepler several weeks ago. I verified today that these changes are in both levels.
