We already have the concept of search scope, which simply means a sub folder where your search is executed.
Simon and I talked about context/page related search several times before. For example:
If I am in navigator page, I want to search files by default.
If I am in the git log page, I wanted to quickly find out a commit where I can view the history, just by typing a keyword in the commit message that I remembered roughly. Not sure it is doable in this specific case but just a solid example.

The google native client has a good exaple as well.

The search box in the page clearly puts a context tip on the left. You are sure that by default you only search things in "native client". If you want a wider context, just simply close the context tip.

I would like to think about it in 3.0 time frame but if any other higher priorities come, then post 3.0. Just keep this bug so I do not forget this.
