In package explorer with a working set selected and some filters defined
creating a new file does not work. Right click in a folder and select new ->
File. Write a name and select finish. The dialog does not disappear and it can't
be cancelled or closed.

Iäm running eclipse 3 M1 suse 8.2 and kde 3.1.2

Package Explorer is JDT/UI.

The new File dialog is provided by the platform. It gets only activated from 
the package explorer.

Moving to platform UI for comments.
