Summary: Link widget needs an escape character for < and >

Attempting to use a Link widget where the text contains angle-bracket characters can run into issues where the widget misplaces the boundaries of the link or causes text to disappear.  An escape character for < and > characters that the text is meant to display would fix this problem.
