Bug 393423

Repro:

1) download https://github.com/thomas-joiner/SimpleDirectoryContainer_EclipsePlugin/tree/new_suffixes (note that it has to be on the new_suffixes branch)
2) launch Eclipse with the plugin
3) add a "Directory Container" classpath
4) add a JAR to the folder that you selected (note that the jar is added to the container and any classes inside are accessible)
5) delete the JAR from the folder (or rename it)
6) add the JAR back to the folder (or rename to the original name)

At this point one would expect that everything should still be fine. However the classes in the JAR are no longer accessible, and even though the JAR shows up under the classpath container in the Package Explorer, none of the classes are accessible, and if you click on the entry in the Package Explorer, you get an exception like "Java Model Exception: Java Model Status [C:\runtime-EclipseApplication\test\lib\null.jar is not on its project's build path]" (see attached .log for full exception). Note that restarting the workspace appears to be the only thing

The reason that I ran into this bug is that I was trying to fix a bug that was reported on the original (https://github.com/benjchristensen/SimpleDirectoryContainer_EclipsePlugin/issues/1). There were some other bugs causing problems (thus it being important to use the new_suffixes branch).
Comment 1 Eclipse Genie CLA 2020-04-01 14:00:40 EDT
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
