Bug 391329

Summary: Performance issue on selecting lines by auto-repeat
Product: [WebTools] WTP Source Editing Reporter: Toshihiro Izumi <euthanasia_waltz>
Component: wst.htmlAssignee: wst.html <wst.html-inbox>
Status: CLOSED DUPLICATE QA Contact: Nick Sandonato <nsand.dev>
Severity: normal
Priority: P3 CC: thatnitind
Version: 3.4.1
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows XP
Whiteboard:

Description Toshihiro Izumi CLA 2012-10-07 23:02:46 EDT
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a simple html file
  1: <html>
  2: <head>
  3: </head>
  4: <body>
  5: <p>Text</p>
... repeat above line 100 times
105: </body>
106: </html>
2. Go to line 105
3. Hit and hold Shift+UpArrow

The outline scrolls hard and hard. The cursor runs without block-seletion, and then selecting lines takes a few seconds per line.

Turning off Link-with-Editor is the only workaround for now.

Eclipse Platform	4.2.1.M20120914-1800
Eclipse Web Developer Tools	3.4.1.v201208170345-7O7MFsPEMkBJz0wtb-ccsarPSceUIHO9iKk6XVPV

Microsoft Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3
CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93GHz
Mem 2.00 GB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 399 MHz
(This is not a machine-issue but the behaviour described above probably depends on the machine-power)
