Currently, new projects will be created with PHP facet matching their PHP version.
There should be a way to enable PHP facet for projects that exist already, were imported from VCS or archive.

I think it should not be automatic, but rather manual operation that happens per user request.
E.g. user selects a project, opens it's context menu and selects "Configure -> Enable PHP Facets"

Downside is that this action doesn't bring any direct value to user. From his perspective it's just few extra magic lines in some strange XMLs inside project dir.

So maybe better we could have a dialog where user can specify the what other facets he wants and PHP facet will only be applied when necessary. E.g. user clicks "Configure -> Enable PHP Frameworks" and he get's a list of available PHP-related facets. After he selected facets that he needs, the PHP facet gets added automatically too.

Not valid anymore. PDT is not using facets actively.
