OS X crash log

A SmartGit (which uses SWT/JFace 3.8) user reports following bug when expanding a tree node on OS X 10.8.1 with retina display.
Comment 1 Lakshmi P Shanmugam CLA 2012-09-05 08:32:35 EDT
Is this specific to 10.8 or does it happen on 10.7 too?
Comment 2 Thomas Singer CLA 2012-09-09 03:40:59 EDT
The user did not tell this, so I guess, he only has 10.8.1 available.

crashlog showing same issue in MacOSX 10.7

I have the same issue here, using MacOSX 10.7
Comment 4 Tristan Hume CLA 2012-11-08 14:22:37 EST
Is this with or without the plist fix to enable high resolution support?
Comment 5 Thomas Singer CLA 2012-11-09 01:05:47 EST
I think, it is without any retina-specific Info.plist entry (unless the user has added it himself).

Possible duplicate: bug 414202

I can reproduce the problem quiet easily in SmartSVN: while SmartSVN is still loading ("Local Refreshing" shows in the right part of the status bar), expanding/collapsing some tree nodes either cause the VM to crash or the exception shown in bug 414202 to be thrown. I've tried hard to create a small sample application to reproduce the problem, but failed so far. We are using an ownerdrawn tree (using JFace) and a background thread scans the file system and updates the tree. I guess, the crash/exception is somehow related with changing the tree structure while the expand/collapse animation happens.
Comment 7 Konstantin Scheglov CLA 2013-08-03 03:26:11 EDT
I confirm this observation - updating Tree during expand/collapse causes crash.
I have to add tree listener and delay updating until enough time passes after the last expect/collapse event.
Comment 8 Thomas Singer CLA 2013-08-03 05:34:50 EDT
Are you also using an ownerdrawn tree?

This looks like a duplicate of Bug 422371 and was fixed in 4.4.2.
