immediately after opening a model (.di), it is marked as modified (with an asterisk) even though nothing has been edited yet

Some editors performs automatic updates of the diagrams, which can lead to this marker (ex: SysML IBD diagrams). This is also the case for some compartments added for stereotype of figures management.

I have seen this also for UML models based in proprietary profiles.
Cannot tell exactly when, it just happens.

The main issue, I think, is that there is no notification
to the user about what happened and why.
