Overview: The edit command in the console does not use the appropriate editor for the filetype, only the default. This may be intentional rather than a bug.

1) Install a plugin to a non-standard editor.

2) Create a file with a type such that it should be opened in said editor.

3) Navigate to the folder in the console, then type edit <filename>.

4) The file will open in the default editor.

Expected Results:

The file should have opened in the custom editor.
