Hmm, I see there are actually a number "mailing lists" used by platform group, mailing list platform-dev platform-ant-dev platform-core-dev platform-debug-dev platform-doc-dev platform-releng-dev platform-search-dev platform-swt-dev platform-team-dev platform-text-dev platform-ui-dev And even though "platform-dev" is listed at "main" one, doesn't appear portal honors that in all spots. I wonder ... think we still need all these dev lists? If so, guess we can close this bug as "wontfix" as I'm not sure its worth opening a bug on old portal. Created attachment 219629 [details]
screen shot of project meta data dialog
If you go to portal, and hover over (or click on) either "mailing list" or "newsgroup", you can see the "main" setting is not honored. Not sure that rule its following. But for mailing list, it says platform-dev-doc is link, and for dev list it says platform-dev-ua is main link.
So ... I think Portal bug that "main" is not being read/used correctly?
Moving to "portal" for consideration. Pretty sure our data is correct. I agree with your assessment of the symptoms. I'll take a look at the code. In the meantime, you can override the suggested value for the mailing list when creating new elections. (In reply to comment #2) > So ... I think Portal bug that "main" is not being read/used correctly? Confirmed. The query disregards the mailing list type. File: /myfoundation/classes/functions.php Function: mailinglist_for_project This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
