Build Identifier: 20120614-1722 In eclipse 4.2 the history view focus handling behaves differntly compared to version 3.7.2 if the "Link with Editor and Selection" is enabled. If you select a file within the "Navigator"- or "Package Explorer"-view it's revision information are properly shown within the History view. But as soon you click the history view, for example to compare two revisions or retrieve some other information, it's content is always synced with the editor's content. In eclipse 3.7.2 and before the history view was NOT updated in this case. This new behaviour is not very handy to access revision information from within eclipse. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the "history" view and enable the option "Link with Editor and Selection" 2. Open a file within the editor that is stored in version control and select another file stored on a VCS within the Navigator or Package Explorer. The history view should now display the version information of the SELECTED file, not the file displayed within the editor. 3. Try to compare two revision of the selected file from within the History view. As soon as you click the tab in eclipse 4.2 the content is synced with the editor's contents. So you can not browse the version information for a SELECTED file within the view anymore, as it was possible up to eclipse 3.7.2.
