Description Vasily Ivanov CLA 2012-07-02 20:59:24 EDT
Build Identifier: 20120216-1857

Currently (Build ID: 20120216-1857) Eclipse only allows to show/hide whitespace characters in different regions of a line of text and also specify characters transparency.

It should also allow changing of default characters to display. Some fonts (e.g. Anonymous) don't show default characters correctly (not sure why) and it would be nice to be able to pick up characters from character map for Space, Ideographic space, Tab, Carriage Return and Line Feed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click Window -> Preferences
2. Expand General -> Editors -> Text Editors
3. Click on "whitespace characters" link
4. There is no option to choose specific characters.

We won't add a preference to workaround wrong rendering of a font or bugs in the font.

Moving to SWT to check whether we paint wrongly, or whether the font itself is broken.

thanks, you can get that free font for testing from first link in google searching for "anonymous font"
Comment 5 Eric Williams CLA 2018-05-14 14:51:29 EDT
This doesn't look like a bug in SWT, but with the font itself. Closing this as WONTFIX.
