Was there a policy change to make mailing lists not public anymore? I always have to authenticate but cannot link to archived posts in emails or tweets anymore.

I meant mailing list "archives", e.g., https://dev.eclipse.org/mailman/private/recommenders-dev/

This is actually an 'error' in the mailman templating system(it's using the wrong default template).  I've updated the template and things should be ok now.  

The 'default' path for the archives is: http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/name-of-list .
