The Eclipse project download pages[1] still retain their original 2001 look-and-feel. While this makes them an interesting period piece, and a fine reminder of how far web design has progressed in 11 years, perhaps the time has come to modernize their look and feel.

I would like to propose that these pages be modified to adopt the Nova look and feel used by most of the rest of the eclipse.org website. This means, for example, that when a user clicks on "Other Downloads" from the Classic entry on the main Eclipse download page, the look will be much more consistent for the user. Having standardized header and footer navs automatically included will hopefully be an additional benefit.

Certainly seems like a reasonable request. Hopefully, there'll be some time for this after 4.2 ships. I'm not sure we'll be able to get to it before then.

If the Foundation provides a little web development help, does that change your mind?
