Description Mark Macdonald CLA 2012-05-15 13:32:00 EDT
Using the current code in HEAD, I see that the navigator twisties are toggled by focusing them and pressing Enter.

It used to be possible to toggle them with the Right/LeftArrow keys, which is much faster for navigating through a folder hierarchy.

I'd like to get the old behavior back.

I guess the issue is this is now a grid and left/right are used to navigate between cells. I agree that left/right to expand/collapse trees was much nicer and consistent with native keyboard tree behaviour (at least on Windows).

Can we do something like:

- if there is a true grid (more than just a twistie and a link)...then right arrow and left arrow navigates as is, and ctrl-Right/ctrl-left will operate the twisties.

- if there is only a twistie and a link (no grid) then left and right should operate the twisties

Part of the problem right now is that nav was a grid (it had the chevron menu that had to be cursored to) when he put the model in. I have since pulled out the chevron menu. So there's really no reason to act like a grid in the nav case.
