Summary: [Compatibility] Debug variables view not populated until focused

Whiteboard:

Description Brian de Alwis CLA 2012-05-01 19:05:51 EDT
Version: 4.2.0
Build id: I20120430-1800

Having started a debug session and hit a breakpoint, the Variables view often remains empty until explicitly activated with a mouse click. Unlike previous bugs relating to the variables view, this is repeatable after a number of debug restarts.

Eric, I thought we squashed this (not completely, it seems)

I cannot reproduce this on:

Version: 4.2.0
Build id: I20120430-1800

Brian, what does the debug view look like? i.e. is it full view size or in bread-crumb mode?
Comment 3 Brian de Alwis CLA 2012-05-02 16:00:01 EDT
Hmm, it was happening to me several times this morning, but I'm now unable to reproduce it. I'll mark it as invalid and will reopen if I can figure out a way to get it to open.

It's normal size, I think (I've never heard of the bread-crumb mode.).
Comment 4 Paul Webster CLA 2012-05-02 16:11:31 EDT
I see it especially when debugging and switching from the Java perspective to the Debug perspective either while paused or when it auto-switches when it hits a breakpoint.

Switching perspectives a lot seems to trigger it for me.

I also often see this using I20120502-1800.

Eric, this was the bug we were talking about.

These are both facets of the same problem; somehow the Variables view (at least) gets magically moved on top of the actual selected tab in the CTF...
